Boggild obtained his PhD in low temperature mesoscopic physics at the Copenhagen University in 1998, became
associate professor at Technical University of Denmark in 2002 and full professor in 2013. He worked in
diverse areas, mainly nanomechatronics, nanometrology, surface engineering, material synthesis and
microfabrication, but is today leading a group that focus entirely on graphene and other 2D materials - from
fundamental to applied research, from large scale fabrication, integrarion and application to nanoelectronics physics and engineering. He is involved in the centre of excellence, CNG – Center for nanostructured graphene and in the European Graphene Flagship, and is main organiser of the Carbonhagen conference series since 2010. He has published around 190 papers, mostly on carbon and other nanomaterials.
