演讲嘉宾-Liya Wang

Liya Wang
XG Sciences
Dr. Liya Wang is currently Vice President of R&D at XG Sciences in the United States, leading research and development activities of graphene-based materials for composite, thermal, electrical, anti-corrosion and energy storage applications. Previously, Dr. Wang was Principal Scientific Director at CIC Energigune in Spain from 2010 to 2012 where he helped build a world-class new energy research center and led the development of advanced batteries and capacitors. From 2006 to 2010 Dr. Wang was Director of Emerging Technologies at A123 Systems, a global Li-ion battery manufacturer based in the U.S. where he led the development and production transition of new generations of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials. From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Wang was R&D Director at Pacific Industrial Development Corp and coordinated the development of nano materials for catalysis and luminescence applications. From 1999 to 2003, he was Manager of Materials Development and Vice President at T/J technologies where he built a multi-million-dollar battery program. From 1994 to 1999, he worked at IMRA America as a Researcher on electrochemical capacitors and high-power lithium ion batteries. Dr. Wang graduated from Beijing University of Science and Technology in China and received a PhD degree in Materials Science from University of Michigan in the U.S.  He was a Guest Professor at University of Electronic Science and Technology in China and an Adjunct Associate Professor at University of Michigan in USA.

内容摘要

One of major challenges for graphene-based companies is to identify right markets, develop competitive products, and supply customers at high volume. While there have been many graphene companies who can produce graphene, graphene oxide, or graphene nanoplatelets at decent volumes, few have generated meaningful sales due to a lack of application development that can help customer adoption. This is due to the fact that graphene-based materials are relatively new and many customers do not know how to properly use them in their existing processes. Additionally, potential applications of graphene-based materials cover a broad spectrum of industries, making it difficult for a graphene company to acquire all expertise needed for effectively supporting different customers. This presentation will report the latest progress at XG Sciences in developing value-added products for thermal management, polymer composites, energy storage, anti-corrosion, and other applications.
