Graphene possesses a unique two-dimensional structure, high conductivity, superior electron mobility and extremely high specific surface area, and can be produced on a large scale at low cost. Graphene is regarded as an ideal high performance candidate to make various functional composite materials. Graphene-based semiconductor photocatalysts have attracted ever-increasing research attentions in environmental and energy applications. In this review, the fabrication of graphene-based semiconductor photocatalysts is summarized systematically. In addition, the photocatalytic properties of graphene-based composites were discussed in environmental and energy applications. Changes and challenges in the area of graphene research were described.
